The presence of an orange smudge on the MacBook Pro screen that cannot be removed is not caused by dirt or a software glitch but is instead a hardware problem. Most often, this is caused by pressure on the LCD screen during transport or storage. Another possibility is heat discoloration or irregularities in the backlight or early signs of screen burn-in. If the smudge fails to disappear after cleaning the MacBook Pro screen using a good quality microfiber cloth and a good quality screen cleaning solution, then it is likely that the MacBook Pro’s LCD screen has been damaged internally.

The easiest way to confirm this is to take a screenshot. If the orange smudge fails to appear on the screenshot but is present on the Orange Smudge on MacBook Pro Screen, then it is a problem with the MacBook Pro’s LCD screen rather than the operating system. Another possibility is that liquid has come into contact with the MacBook Pro screen, causing discoloration that resembles an orange or yellow patch. Unfortunately, if the layers on the MacBook Pro’s LCD screen have been damaged, then the only solution is to replace the MacBook Pro display. If the MacBook Pro is still within warranty
